Unveiling the Confident Me: My Six Months with CorpsAfrica So Far

Six months ago, I started a new journey with CorpsAfrica/Malawi. In the beginning, I was a shy person with lots of doubts. But these past six months have been an exciting adventure that changed me from a quiet person to someone confident in helping my community.

During the early days of my service, my shyness was like a cozy shell; it felt safe, but it also held me back. Volunteering in my Community encouraged me to leave that shell behind and explore new things. Slowly, my self-doubt faded away as CorpsAfrica challenged me to step out of my comfort zone. It became a place where I could share my thoughts, work with others, and make a positive impact on my community.

One big realization changed everything, being shy was stopping not only my personal growth but also the good things I could do for others. CorpsAfrica showed me the power of my voice. Being part of community discussions and projects became a way of proving myself. Every interaction boosted my confidence. The training and support from CorpsAfrica/Malawi helped me understand how to work with my community. The friendships with other Volunteers and advice from supervisors created a supportive environment for my confidence to grow.

The real magic happened during primary project identification. Organizing meetings, writing Project proposals and grants,  leading initiatives, and connecting with community members became a daily part of my life. The more I took on the role of a facilitator, the more confident I felt. I started to see the unique skills I brought to the table and how I could make a positive impact. Now, six months into my CorpsAfrica/Malawi journey, I’ve transformed from a shy person to a confident community facilitator. I’m not afraid to share ideas, start conversations, and lead positive changes. CorpsAfrica is not just a program; it is a key to a personal revolution.

This journey has been more than an adventure, it is a story of my transformation. I’m thankful for the challenges that pushed me, the support that guided me, and the newfound confidence that defines me. The adventure continues, and I’m excited to see what happens next in this ever-growing story of change, learning, and making a difference in my community.
