Residing in a countryside region provides a unique and one-of-a-kind life encounter. After committing five months to volunteer work, I acquired a wealth of valuable life skills and lessons that will have a beneficial influence on my future. When I first arrived in these rural communities, I neglected to communicate or reveal their experiences. Later on, I began to appreciate them more in the voluntary activities I engage in.
I am assisting the people of Gitaba village in the Rulindo district of Rwanda. I work closely with young people, the elderly, and parents, sharing a living space with them. I support and encourage the community to lead their development by utilizing the resources readily available within their community. I enjoy residing alongside them. When I come across individuals who share that I was raised in a rural area, they become fascinated to listen. However, in recent discussions with my friends about my childhood, I realized that I have plenty of stories to recount about my time volunteering in a rural area.
Beekeeping experience gained from the youth
By collaborating with the younger generation, I acquired the skills to construct both contemporary and indigenous beehives. We began our journey in community training and united to work towards shared objectives. We created contemporary beehives that offered a novel solution and ultimately contributed to their advancement through the utilization of rural-based resources. I acquired the knowledge of commencing with modest steps and continually expanding to achieve success.
