The project aims to restore the computer science program in the mixed school of the Daffor Awudome community which houses the 3 levels (primary school, junior high school, and senior high school) since for a very long time this module was canceled due to lack of computers. With computer science integrated into the curriculum that exists in schools to enable students to acquire knowledge in computer science, schools are equipped with computer rooms and the necessary accompanying equipment that allows the work to be done. But due to the age of the computer equipment, which dates back several long years, the mixed school of Daffor Awoudome community has a great problem of re-equipping the computer room which has remained unusable for a long time after several endless distributions of the existing computers which are no longer functional so far. With the identification of the need by the community and of course with my facilitation, the project intend to restart the computer room by re-equipping it with new computers and a video projector to facilitate learning and accompanying material to restore the computer science module which appears in the program which consisted of introducing students to computer science at a young age to enable them to acquire knowledge in this field.
The identification of the project was remarkable, we used the mango tree process because with these meetings, several members of the community came up with ideas, exchanges on decision-making, seeing and reviewing things from several angles and deciding on the project idea and its design. So, the decision-making power of the community took over the project with their involvement and my facilitation to give a lasting result and all that around a discussion in the public square.
A community equipped with resources and committed because 60% of the needs for the realization of this project come from the community such as human resources (technicians, labor), equipment, with the exception of computers, everything else comes from the community. Which means that we relied on the assets of the community to implement the project.
All the teachers, elders of the village, group of women and young people of the community, including two members of the municipality, have come together as a team to divide the tasks for the organization of a follow-up team to ensure the sustainability of the project.
At the time of the inauguration, the king of the community ordered that the great elders of the community make cultural prayers for the sustainability of the project and that the volunteer who facilitated the project be blessed and protected by the ancestors.
A delegation from the municipality under the orders of the mayor came to visit the project and congratulate the community of Daffor for their dedication and autonomy but also to salute the remarkable work of CorpsAfrica through the Volunteer.
