Alfonce Micah Yano is a humanitarian born and raised in Kisumu County, Kenya. He is currently serving as a CorpsAfrica/Kenya Volunteer in Kitui and as the design lead at Google Developer Groups Kisii. He has worked in the public sector with different government agencies, including the Teachers Service Commission and the Ministry of Education as an ICT support intern. He relishes the challenge of solving complex problems and delivering elegant and efficient solutions. Alfonce also has over four years of experience in design and the realm of software development, he has contributed to several open-source projects and is a member of various tech communities. He is in love with poetry and literature in general and is a hobbyist professional photographer. As a bibliophile, he enjoys exploring different genres of novels and collecting art. He is also adventurous and appreciates the glamour of nature by planting fruit trees. In 2022, his essay, School of the Future, was nominated for prizes at MASK awards. His commitment to lifelong learning and pursuits allows him to bring fresh perspectives and ever-evolving skill sets to the table. Alfonce is currently a graduate student at Moi University pursuing a Master’s degree of Science in Information Technology and an alumnus of the University of Eldoret where he served on the student council’s editorial board. He is excited about the future of technology and is eager to connect with professionals who share his enthusiasm for pushing boundaries and making a meaningful impact.
