Martin Twesigye is a highly accomplished community development worker with over five years of experience in project implementation and management. His expertise spans Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH), nutrition, social behavioral change, natural resource management, and building market systems for farmer groups. He excels in community-led and human-centered development approaches, along with partnership management.
Martin holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Project Planning and Management, a Bachelor’s in Planning and Community Development, and is currently pursuing a Master’s in Social Work. He previously worked with Caritas Kabale on a USAID-Integrated Community Agriculture and Nutrition Activity as Field Officer and District Coordinator, securing grants for four community groups totaling $8,770 and supporting field teams of 7 field officers and over 30 community structures. His voluntary work includes International Citizen Service at both Restless Development and VSO-Uganda.
During his CorpsAfrica service in Kyerero village, Martin initiated creative art projects, and vegetable gardening at a primary school, and established two community groups, set up a community tree nursery bed, and one registered as a Community-Based Organization. He implemented nutrition interventions in 58 homes and led income-generating projects like soap making and Irish potato farming, positively impacting community members. His commitment is to foster inclusivity, collaborative action, and equal opportunities for everyone to experience shared humanity. Currently, Martin is an Exchange Volunteer with CorpsAfrica/Malawi.
