Ndawa Thioune was born in Dakar. Beyond university, she trained in entrepreneurship including PSEJ (Senegalese Program for Youth Entrepreneurship).She is active in development organizations and associations and a volunteer coach at Special Olympics Senegal and a first aid worker and youth representative at the level of the department of Thiès at the Red Cross Senegal. Ndawa joined CorpsAfrica in 2018 as Volunteer and was placed in the Ndombo Sandjiry, a community in the region of St. Louis, in northern Senegal. During her service, she worked with the whole community, especially with women and young people. She organized cleaning days and entrepreneurial training for 25 young people, which helped to formalize some groups to launch their own enterprises. With the women, she set up a fish farm project on Lake Taouey, which remains an essential resource in the village. After her service, she and other Volunteers in northern Senegal created a start-up, NAFAAS, to promote local products in our communities. In 2020, Ndawa joined the staff of CorpsAfrica/Senegal as an office intern in Monitoring and Evaluation.
