Director of Development

Michael Stanton, CorpsAfrica’s Director of Development, has spent his career working in fundraising offices at both domestic and international nonprofits. Most recently, he served as the Major Gifts Manager at the Malala Fund, working with individuals and family foundations to secure gifts that support 12 years of free, safe and quality education for girls around the world. Michael has worked in the domestic education space as the Development Manager at the National Alliance for Public Charter Schools and Manager for Mission Advancement at America’s Promise Alliance. For two years he taught political science and English literature and language at Saint Andre E.M. School in Tripura, India as a volunteer through the Stonehill Service Corps. He completed research in Rwanda focused on the 1994 genocide with the School for International Training and in Kenya as an education in emergencies graduate consultant with Save the Children International. He holds a bachelor’s degree in communications and international studies from Stonehill College and a master’s in international development studies from The Elliott School of International affairs at The George Washington University.
