Ousman Sanneh is a youth leader and a seasoned community development expert with over 9 years of professional experience. Ousman holds a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from the University of The Gambia and a Higher Teacher’s Certificate from The Gambia College.
Ousman an accomplished Regional Coordinator at C-Quest Capital LLC before joining CorspAfrica, where he led carbon project initiatives and social impact investments across the Lower River Region and West Coast Region. With a strong commitment to community empowerment, he has successfully overseen the installation of improved cookstoves in over 40,000 households, significantly enhancing the livelihoods of women and children in vulnerable communities within two years.
In their role, Ousman has demonstrated exceptional leadership by managing a diverse team of 12 district coordinators and 48 training and registration assistants. He excelled in stakeholder engagement, building robust relationships with government officials and local authorities, which have strengthened collaboration and project success. Through regular field visits and effective monitoring, he ensured that project objectives were met while addressing challenges proactively.
Ousman served as a Regional Youth Chairperson of the Lower River Region under the National Youth Council, where they coordinated various youth empowerment initiatives. He played a pivotal role in establishing the first rural innovative lab, providing vital IT classes and business coaching to rural youth. Their advocacy work also included leading the migration information center project, promoting safe migration practices, and supporting the reintegration of returnees.
With a background in human rights advocacy as a focal person for Amnesty International, Ousman organized local initiatives that fostered community involvement and raised awareness on critical issues, including the abolition of the death penalty. His efforts transformed local schools into human rights-friendly institutions, enriching the educational landscape in The Gambia.
Dedicated to driving economic growth and social change, Ousman continues to participate in international forums, including Youth Connect in Gambia and the OIC Youth Capital event in Azerbaijan. Their leadership, community engagement skills, and commitment to human rights make them a valuable asset in the field of social impact and development.
