Dorcas Nafuna Nyongesa is an innovative person with over 2 years of experience in marketing and
training. She obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences from the College of Human Resource
Development at Jomo Kenyatta University and Technology. Her academic focus was in the Department
of Community Development and Environment. She is always open to learning new things and is a tech
lover. She is a certified virtual assistant by ALX Africa.
Dorcas is passionate about youth and women empowerment through mentorship and entrepreneurship
training. She is also a soil advocate for it plays a central role in the climate change arena. She is working
towards bringing change in Africa by working with communities to identify their own needs and use
their available resources to bring about sustainable development.
With a flair for making meaningful connections and an unending desire to promote community-led
development, She can do training, research, entrepreneurship, and quantitative and qualitative data
collection.
Her passion for service has informed her decision to work as a Volunteer with CorpsAfrica/Kenya. As a
trainee, she has gained skills in Community-Led Development models, human-centered design, and
asset-based community development. She has learned to let the community lead its development and exactly
what her role as a Volunteer in the whole process would be. She is currently an African Volunteer serving
in Baringo County.
