Chifundo Nyirenda holds a Bachelor of Science in Gender and Development from the Lilongwe University of Agriculture and Natural Resources (LUANAR). He is a passionate community development practitioner and advocates for sustainable development goals through working directly with rural communities to facilitate transformative and sustainable development interventions. Before joining CorpsAfrica,
Chifundo worked as a government intern at M’mbelwa district council under the government graduate internship program in Mzimba North, where he worked on the social cash transfer program (SCTP) locally known as Mtukula Pakhomo, which is an unconditional cash transfer program targeted to ultra-poor and labor constrained households to reduce poverty, hunger and increase school enrolment. In 2023, Chifundo taught at Hartford International College (HIC) as an instructor of community development studies for 5 months. He firmly believes that serving as a CorpsAfrica Volunteer is a life-changing and excellent opportunity for him to lead grassroots efforts towards achieving sustainable development goals, including the Malawi Vision 2063 and uplifting rural communities in Malawi through community-led development (CLD).
