Precious Nthondowa is passionate about enhancing the well-being of the most underprivileged individuals in rural communities, focusing on improving food security, promoting good health, and enhancing climate resilience. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Food Security and Nutrition, which he earned from the University of Livingstonia. Before joining CorpsAfrica, Precious gained experience as a Research Assistant on various projects with World Vision Malawi in Chikwawa district. These projects included the Cyclone Freddy emergency response in 2023, the post-distribution monitoring survey on food assistance for asset program, and the lean season response project in 2022. he worked closely with field officers, performing duties such as conducting sensitisation campaigns, collecting data, facilitating food distribution to targeted beneficiaries, and engaging in community meetings. Precious also served as a Nutrition Assistant Intern at Nkhoma Mission Hospital in 2021. He was responsible for facilitating community outreach programs on nutrition assessments for children and the elderly, managing admissions and treatment for malnutrition cases, and monitoring the growth and development of children under five. Precious was privileged to be sponsored by the All Africa Students Union (AASU) to attend the inaugural Africa Health Excon in Cairo, Egypt, in 2022. He actively participated in sessions addressing Women and Child Health within the context of nutrition. Precious considers it an honor to have the opportunity to work with CorpsAfrica, as he believes his service will enable the community to create a sustainable solution to some of their challenges.
