Phenias Niyonzima was born and raised in Kigali, Rwanda; he holds a Bachelor’s degree in Agribusiness from the University of Rwanda College of Agriculture and Veterinary Medicine (CAVM), graduating in 2022. During his academic journey, he gained valuable experience through apprenticeships and internships. Phenias worked with organizations like RTI and Bridge to Rwanda (B2R), where he trained farmers in conservation agriculture across the country and supported B2R farm trainees. His professional internships took him to various districts, including Musanze, Kayonza, and Bugesera, where he learned about Conservation Agriculture and the foundation for farming. As a YEAN extension officer, he collaborated with Musanze community farmers to enhance their wealth and living standards through agriculture extension services. Additionally, Phenias co-founded the HingAMAFARANGA club at the University of Rwanda (CAVM), bringing together members from various backgrounds. During an academic internship with Koperative Kunda Ibireti Muhinzi (KOKIMU), he presented data on the impact of pyrethrum cultivation on farmers’ income, displaying his dedication to agricultural research and community development. His life journey reflects a commitment to education, agriculture, and improving the lives of those around him.
