Ngabonziza Francois is a committed professional with a background in Geography and Urban Planning. He holds a bachelor’s degree in the field, where he gained expertise in spatial analysis, land use, and sustainable development. His academic training provided him with technical skills in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), urban design, transportation planning, and environmental management. Francois also brings two years of hands-on experience as a cadastral mapper and database manager at Paragon Engineers Ltd, where he specializes in managing spatial data and contributing to urban planning initiatives.
Francois transitioned from urban planning to community development, driven by his passion for grassroots work. As a CorpsAfrica Volunteer, he made a significant impact in Kigarama by leading initiatives aimed at improving food security and hygiene. His work included establishing a small animal project that provided income generation for locals, as well as building 52 kitchen gardens, 52 plate racks, and 22 pit latrines, which greatly improved the community’s well-being. Francois also helped a youth group launch a post-harvest storage business, enabling each member to earn a steady income.
With a strong commitment to empowering communities, Francois seeks to continue his Volunteering activities to expand his knowledge, aiming to contribute to the development of African communities. His expertise lies in blending technical skills with a human-centered approach to foster sustainable development.
