Christine is a Volunteer for CorpsAfrica/Kenya’s third cohort. Currently, serving in Kakamega County. She is a passionate advocate for good governance, leadership, community development, and conflict resolution. With a Bachelor’s Degree in Peace and Conflict Studies from Africa Nazarene University, Christine has honed her expertise through diverse roles in community relations, project management, and the education sector. At the Geothermal Development Company, she assisted in fostering positive community relations by coordinating outreach activities, organizing engagement meetings, and supporting the implementation of the company’s Community Engagement Strategy (CES). Christine’s roles involved managing community feedback, handling grievance processes, developing budgets for community projects, and ensuring collaboration with Independent Power Producers (IPPs). She is skilled in liaising with local government authorities, facilitating socioeconomic surveys, and compiling comprehensive reports, all while prioritizing effective communication and community empowerment. Her academic background in Peace and Conflict Studies, combined with hands-on experience, positions her as a versatile professional committed to community development and sustainable project management. While working as a Volunteer Teaching Assistant with PACEmaker International, Christine led the implementation of a literacy improvement program for underserved primary school learners, significantly boosting their reading skills. Her leadership extended to managing peer mentorship programs, coordinating school projects, and improving teacher-student engagement. She has earned multiple certifications, including in Project Management and Human Resources, and has been recognized for her leadership and dedication to community service with a record an outstanding record of 735 hours of service in 2022.
