Prosperina Mpekansambo is a lady who holds a Bachelor’s degree in Media for Development from the University of Malawi. She likes to read novels and interact with new people. Prosperina is passionate about girl and boy child and women empowerment. She believes in empowering the girl child while not leaving the boy child behind. With her passion for empowering women, she volunteered with the Mothers Nest Organisation, which aims to empower single mothers to start small-scale businesses. After getting her degree, Prosperina worked as a data analyst in 2022 and interned at the University of Malawi as an assistant lecturer for Community Participation in Development and Development in a changing world through the Centre for Social Research with the help of UNICEF. This is where she amassed knowledge on how to work with communities to bring sustainable development. Prosperina is also a member of the Sexual Reproductive Health Rights African Trust youth hub, which aims at helping the youth to live healthy sexual lives. Since she started to study Media for Development in her first year, Prosperina has always wanted to work with communities for their development. She believes that for sustainable development to take place, it needs the people to participate in every step of the process. She is excited to work with CorpsAfrica as a Volunteer to facilitate development projects that are to be done by the community members themselves.
