Mmapaseka Mogakane is a graduate of Bachelor of Arts in Political Leadership and Citizenship from the University of South Africa, supplemented by a postgraduate Bachelor of Social Science Honours with a specialization in Politics from the University of Cape Town. As a polity graduate, she possesses a deep understanding of governance, public policy, and social systems, which enables her to approach community-led development with a well-rounded perspective. Her training in research, communication, and problem-solving equips her to engage with diverse stakeholders and collaborate effectively to address community needs. She shares CorpsAfrica’s values of empowerment, sustainability, and collaboration, striving to build capacity within communities and foster self-reliance. By applying her academic insights and interpersonal skills, she aims to help facilitate innovative, locally-driven solutions that respect cultural contexts and promote sustainable development, aligned with CorpsAfrica’s mission to inspire grassroots transformation. She identifies the experience of being a Volunteer as not only allowing her to serve others but also deepening her understanding of development practices, shaping her journey as a lifelong advocate for positive change.
