John Mkungula is an expert in Natural Resources Management, specializing in land and water. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Natural Resources Management (Land and Water) from Lilongwe University of Agriculture and Natural Resources (LUANAR), where, in his final year, he conducted a comprehensive assessment of household-level flood vulnerability and evaluated adaptation strategies for flood-prone areas. Before his degree, John earned a diploma in Land Administration from the same institution. John’s professional journey includes valuable experience as an intern at the Machinga Agriculture Development Division, where he played a crucial role in promoting sustainable land management practices. Additionally, he contributed his expertise part-time to Sustainable Development Consultancy as an enumerator and assistant data analyst, facilitating focus group discussions, conducting one-on-one interviews, and generating valuable insights. John’s diverse background includes a stint as an Alinafe Private Secondary School science teacher. He has actively participated in significant conferences, notably the SANCCSA conference in Malawi, an international event focused on sustainable agriculture and natural resource management in sub-Saharan Africa. He also attended the C10 conference, which aimed to enhance education, science, technology, and innovation for Africa’s development, featuring keynote speakers, including ten African heads of state, including the President of Malawi. John is a highly motivated and experienced professional with a strong track record in natural resources management. He is passionate about using his skills and knowledge to positively impact the lives of others, making him a valuable asset to any organization working in the field of natural resources management.
