Gilbert Mbonimpa was born and raised in Rwanda. He holds a Diploma in Electronics and Telecommunications Engineering from Rwanda Polytechnic RP/IPRC KIGALI (Class of 2022). Prior to joining CorpsAfrica as a Volunteer, Gilbert was Head of Communication at the East African Community Youth Ambassadors Platform. He has experience in Communication and Leadership, which is crucial in the duties of youth advocacy as young leader strives for youth empowerment and sustainable development goals. He attended several trainings to equip him with knowledge and skills to serve the African community such as Continental Bootcamp which focused on Youth inclusion in socio-economic development and policy formulation in Africa in December 2022. He also attended training on Cyber Security Tackling hate speech and digital safety in February 2023. He also worked at Pisconetworks as an IT Officer. During his university studies, he was a member and President of the Rise and Talk Gavel club; – an affiliation of Toastmasters International. Gilbert believes that no one is safe until everyone is safe, Youth and Women’s empowerment plays a critical role in paving towards everyone’s safety.
