Garrett Mason (aka Hakim, Ambewe, Shyaka) is an internationally-recognized human-centered design expert, trainer, and community facilitator who has spent the past 20 years supporting community-led approaches to development. He specializes in asset-based community development, human-centered design, systems practice, leadership development, and grassroots community development and has led innovation programs in 12 countries. Before coming to CorpsAfrica, Garrett led Pact’s Innovation Team, leading an award-winning portfolio of global innovation projects funded by USAID, U.S. Department of Labor, U.S. Department of State, and Gates Foundation. In addition, Garrett has lectured and led collaborations on design and development with a number of universities, including Colorado School of Mines, Stanford University, Tulane University, and Ringling College of Art + Design.
