Pemphero Makwinja is from Salima, Malawi. She studied Bachelor of Arts in Communication and Cultural studies at the University of Malawi, Chancellor College. She has worked as an intern with the Ministry of Finance in Capital Hill as a Procurement Officer. She has also worked as an Enumerator with the National Statistical Office in the 2019 House and Population Census. Upon introducing the national ID registration exercise in Malawi, she worked as a Registration Officer with the National Registration Bureau. Pemphero has volunteered with Dedza Community Radio for a community development initiative. During her undergraduate studies, she also volunteered for a University project to advocate for the rights of the disabled and people living with albinism. Pemphero has a passion and in-depth understanding of working with people with different needs. Her patience and resilience have resulted in having a significant impact on the cooperatives and communities she has served.
