Thapelo Pule Lefakgomo is a highly accomplished individual with a strong background in agricultural production, holding a Master’s degree in Sustainable Agriculture from the University of the Free State (UFS). He has managed tree planting and community food garden volunteer projects under ADRASA for an NPO in the Free State province, and worked at the Department of Agriculture’s intern office in the Free State, linking farmers with sectoral stakeholders. As a Volunteer, he provided technical expertise to communal farmers in his township, enhancing their crop and animal production for market fulfilling his role as a public servant. He also identified knowledge gaps in the sector and facilitated non-accredited training for farmers. Notably, Thapelo won 1st position in the Youth Bridge Trust Program business pitching competition, sparking the production of versatile hemp commodities that can potentially contribute to the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals, specifically: 1. No Poverty, 2. Zero Hunger, 6. Clean Water and Sanitation, 7. Affordable and Clean Energy, 8. Decent Work and Economic Growth, 9. Industry Innovation and Infrastructure, 11. Sustainable Cities and Communities, 12. Responsible Consumption and Production, and 13. Climate Action. The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in service of others, Let’s Volunteer!
