Winjoy Kathure is a passionate social impact professional with a Bachelor of Arts in Social Sciences from Egerton University. She is committed to making a positive change in the local communities. Additionally, she dedicated much of her career to volunteering with organizations like the Kenya Red Cross and Grass Root Development Initiatives Foundation-Kenya (GRADIF-Kenya), where she actively worked to make an impact on the local communities within Machakos county and Tharaka-Nithi county.
Through disaster preparedness and response initiatives, youth empowerment, and gender-based violence prevention, Winjoy has been at the forefront of community outreach programs and projects that have helped educate vulnerable populations and mobilize resources. This work mostly involved coordinating programs that provide vital services that address the needs, implementing youth education works, and working as a peer educator to address pressing local issues such as sexual reproductive and health rights and environmental conservation efforts among schools.
Driven by a strong passion for community-led change, Winjoy often says, “True change starts at the grassroots, where real lives are impacted. It is through community service that we find purpose and the power to transform society.” With this motivation, Winjoy continues to develop impactful programs that reflect Pan-Africanism ideas that promote social innovation and sustainability. Her ability to work in diverse and multicultural environments, combined with strong organization and leadership skills, enables them to make a meaningful impact on the ground, thus, improving the lives of those that we serve and aspire to the coming generation of leaders.
