Elvin Kalomba is a social work professional with a passion for empowering vulnerable communities in Malawi. Born and raised in Malawi, he witnessed firsthand the realities of poverty, inequality, and social injustice, which motivates him to drive positive change.
With a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work from the Catholic University of Malawi, Elvin sharpened his skills in community development, project management, and social justice. Professionally, he contributed to the ILO’s ACCEL Africa project as the Project Officer for the Impact Centre for Economic Empowerment and Development(ICEED), combating child labor in coffee and tea supply chains. As Programs Officer at Agri-Digital Hub, he managed programs, built strong stakeholder relationships, and led monitoring and evaluation efforts.
Elvin’s volunteer experience at Mulanje School for the Blind deepened his commitment to empowering marginalized groups. Certifications in Gender Equity and Project Management further enhanced his professional expertise. As a CorpsAfrica Volunteer, Elvin will collaborate with rural communities, listening actively and empathetically to foster self-reliance and sustainable development.
Outside of work, Elvin enjoys staying active through football, both playing and watching. He values time with friends, exploring new experiences, and relaxing with movies and music. Through his work, Elvin aims to leave a sustainable impact, inspiring a new generation of leaders and change-makers in Malawi. He believes in the transformative power of community-led initiatives and is driven by a passion for social justice, equality, and empowerment.
