Viona Kageha Jarenga was born and raised in Kakamega County, the western part of Kenya. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree (Development Studies with Information Technology) with certificates in Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning in Emergencies (MEAL), Psychological First Aid, Youth Mentorship, Community-Led Development, Human Centered Design certificate, Research Fellow as well as a Fellow of Systemic Thinking. Having lived in a rural setting and seeing women struggle to fight for their children, she sparked an interest in helping the less privileged. Viona has participated in youth forums to help amplify the voices of the youth. Over time, Viona has sparked an interest in social change and especially, youth development. As a social change enthusiast, she has had the opportunity to serve different communities and she hopes to gear African tailored solutions for African people. This is the reason she chose to volunteer at CorpsAfrica.
