Ellen Kachira is an agribusiness management graduate from the Lilongwe University of Agriculture and Natural Resources (LUANAR). She is a young motivated lady passionate about agriculture production more especially value addition. She is also passionate about community economic empowerment especially vulnerable groups like women, girls, and children. Before joining CorpsAfrica, Ellen worked with the Cotton Council of Malawi as an intern under a government internship program. She worked in the research and development department which later exposed her to working with cotton farmers and other development partners interested in cotton seed and seed cotton. She has also worked with Mega Farms support unit as a farm business plan consultant intern, while working there she worked with Mega farmers helping them develop business plans that were later used in asking for funding. In college, Ellen had an opportunity to serve in different clubs like the Catholic Commission for Justice and Peace ( CCJP) and Saint Egidio just to mention a few. These clubs helped her gain an understanding of what it means to serve people of different backgrounds and to appreciate every little opportunity given to her. She believes that this service will be an exciting journey to discover her full potential far from her comfort zone and she is thrilled to be part of this amazing team that will be transforming the lives of rural communities across the country Malawi.
