Essa Janko holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Education and a Higher Teachers’ Certificate, establishing a solid foundation for his career in education. With over eight years of teaching
experience, he has demonstrated a profound commitment to nurturing young minds and
fostering a love for learning. Beyond the classroom, Essa’s versatile skills have led him to explore various avenues of
literary work and expression. He has served as a producer and presenter in media, particularly on radio, engaging audiences with insightful discussions and content. Additionally, he has showcased his writing prowess as a freelance writer, contributing thought-provoking
stories on a wide range of topics.
In 2019, he was part of the Voices for Gambia’s Youth project, a collaborative initiative by
DW Akademie is supported by the German Federal Foreign Office and Gambian media
partners. The project aimed to give young people across the country a voice, highlighting
Essa’s dedication to empowering youth and amplifying their voices. Passionate about both learning and sharing knowledge, Essa embodies a lifelong learner’s
spirit, continually seeking new opportunities to expand his expertise and inspire others. He is
also a co-founder of Writers-Clinic Gambia, a non-profit youth association aimed at
improving writing and promoting creativity among young people. His dedication to education and creativity makes him a valuable asset in any endeavor
aimed at empowering individuals and communities through knowledge and understanding.
