Fatou is the current Director of Department of Community Development, under the Ministry of Lands, Regional Government and Religious Affairs. She was born in Gunjur, Kombo South and currently living at Kanifing South in the Kanifing Municipality. She has a MA in Development Studies from the University of East Anglia in the United Kingdom, prior to which she acquired a Diploma in Development Studies at the Pan African Institute for Development in Cameroon in 2002. Fatou Has been working in the field of Community Development since 1996 when she started as Community Development Assistant and rose through the ranks to Director. She also worked from 2016 to 2020 at the Directorate of Local Governance under the same ministry as Principal Decentralization Officer and promoted to Director at the same directorate in 2018 to 2020 before her redeployment to Department of Community Development as Director from 2020 to date. She hopes to continue working in the field of Development until retirement.
