Tewelde Gereziher was born in the Tigray region, located in the northern part of Ethiopia. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering with a specialization in Environmental Engineering from Mekelle University, where he studied at the Mekelle Institute of Technology (MIT). Tewelde has a solid background in community work, having spent two years in community mobilization and facilitation with the Tinsae Women and Children’s Charitable Organization. His leadership and advocacy skills were further honed through his role as an advocate in the Youth and Cultural Development Foundation under the Kefeta Project. Driven by a passion for environmental protection and rural community empowerment, Tewelde has a deep interest in volunteering and mentoring, particularly in activities where he can leverage his skills, knowledge, and experiences to support others. To stay current and expand his expertise, Tewelde regularly participates in various training programs and workshops. Notably, he attended a Project Design and Management (PDM) workshop facilitated by Peace Corps Ethiopia, where he developed a sample community development project tailored to the local realities of Ethiopian communities. This experience led to his certification in Project Design and Management. Additionally, Tewelde has earned certificates in leadership and soft skills, organizational leadership, emergency response (First Aid), and fundamental computer and language skills from various organizations. Currently, Tewelde serves as a second cohort Community Development Facilitator (Volunteer) with Corps Africa/Ethiopia. He is thrilled that this role aligns closely with his passion for community service and development.
