Anthony is an environmentalist as well as a Disaster and Climate Resilience enthusiast.
He holds a Bachelor’s in Meteorology and Climate Sciences from the Malawi University of Science and Technology (MUST). In 2018, Anthony was among the MUST-National Bank of Malawi’s (NBM) best student awardees.
Before joining CorpsAfrica, Anthony volunteered at the Community Impact Malawi (CIM) in Lilongwe (2023), where he assisted 15 school dropouts to return to school. He also volunteered at the Our World International (OWI), supporting waste management initiatives and establishing tree nurseries for environmental restoration. In 2022, Anthony worked as a climate resilience Intern at Save the Children International (SCI) in Lilongwe. At this reputable organisation, he supported the programming and implementation of climate resilience-building projects such as Resilient Economic Development (RED) and the Green Climate Fund (GCF). Additionally, in 2021, he worked as a Disaster Risk Management for Resilience (DRM4R) Intern at Mulanje District Council under the United Nations Development Programs (UNDP). He facilitated climate change adaptation and disaster risk management–related initiatives, carried out humanitarian activities, and compiled project progress reports.
Anthony believes saving the planet, lifting people out of poverty, and advancing economic growth are the same fight. He is confident that being a CorpsAfrica Volunteer is an opportunity for personal and professional transformation. He is a member of the National Youth Network on Climate Change (NYNCC), and in his free time, he enjoys playing soccer, listening to music, and writing poems.
