Jessica Akpene Seworh Fanah recently graduated from the Fred N. Binka School of Public Health of the University of Health and Allied Sciences, with a Bachelor of Public Health Degree in Nutrition. Prior to joining CorpsAfrica, she served as a Research and Teaching Assistant in the same university. Jessica serves as an ambassador of the 1 million Youth Actions Challenge by the Swiss Agency which seeks to promote SDGs 6, 12, 13 and 15 where she lays special emphasis on tree planting and rainwater harvesting. While in school, Jessica held several leadership positions including founding member and organizer of the Nutrition Students Association, hall representative and other religious positions. In the pursuit of giving back to society, she volunteered with clubs on campus like the Environmental Health Club, MensDep and Sickle cell advocacy club. As a breastfeeding advocate, she conducted her undergraduate project work in breastfeeding and uses channels like media, market and radio to advocate for breastfeeding for all children with special emphasis on the newborn. Jessica believes that her service with CorpsAfrica provides her the opportunity for improving Maternal and Child Nutrition, as well as contributing significantly to the lives of rural dwellers.
