Lonney Banda is a motivated and driven young woman who holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Food Security and Nutrition from the University of Livingstonia. As someone passionate about girls education, she is an emerging influencer for social change. Prior to joining CorpsAfrica, Lonney worked with the Community Health Sciences Unit (CHSU) as a Laboratory Technician Intern where she was responsible for food sample analysis. She also spent time with the National Food Fortification Alliance as a Laboratory Assistant on a value-addition project in Ntcheu. In 2019, she volunteered at Kawale Health Facility educating mothers on good child-feeding habits to reduce cases of under-five malnutrition. She served with Bwaila District Hospital as a Nutrition Intern where she trained community health workers on growth monitoring. Furthermore, Lonney has worked with local communities to share knowledge on diverse farming methods for food sustainability and the use of local food products and resources in an effective and nutritious manner.
