Denis Banda is a dedicated professional with a Bachelor’s degree in Food Security and Nutrition, committed to improving community health and nutrition. He began his career as a Biology teacher at Heroshina Secondary School in Nkhotakota, where he developed a passion for education and its impact on well-being.
Transitioning to a Nutrition Assistant role in Dowa, Denis actively contributed to community health initiatives, working closely with local populations to promote better nutritional practices. His expertise in agribusiness was further honed as an extension worker with Nutricare, where he supported sustainable agricultural practices and empowered farmers.
Denis also possesses valuable research experience, having worked as a temporary Research Assistant/Enumerator with the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) Malawi, Yamba Malawi, and CLM Consultant. In these roles, he engaged in important research projects that informed policies and practices aimed at enhancing food and livelihood security, achieving SDGs 1(no poverty) and 2 (zero hunger).
By joining CorpsAfrica as a Volunteer, Denis will continue his mission to create positive change in communities. His diverse background and unwavering commitment to food security and nutrition make him a vital asset in the pursuit of healthier, more sustainable communities. Through his work, Denis strives to inspire others and foster a collective effort towards improving nutrition and agricultural practices in his region.
