The Journey of Cohort 1: Completing the Entrepreneurship Incubator

We are thrilled to share the remarkable journey and accomplishments of CorpsAfrica’s first Alumni Entrepreneurship Incubator cohort. Over the past three months, eight alumni-led ventures from Morocco, Malawi, Senegal, and Rwanda have undergone an intensive business training program facilitated by our partners at ES Maroc.

The program, which kicked off in February 2023, provided these aspiring entrepreneurs with comprehensive training covering various aspects of business development, including business modeling, financial planning, marketing strategies, and team management. Through a combination of group sessions and one-on-one mentorship, the participants acquired the necessary skills and knowledge to refine their business ideas and create robust plans for their ventures.

Throughout the incubator, we witnessed the participants’ growth and determination as they navigated the challenges of entrepreneurship. Their commitment and passion were truly inspiring, and their ventures showcase the potential for creating sustainable employment opportunities and driving positive social impact across Africa.

As the program culminated in May 2023, each participant successfully created a business model canvas, business plan, and financial plan, and pitched their projects to a panel of experts. We are proud to announce that following the completion of the incubator, each venture has received a grant of $5,000 to support the launch and growth of their businesses.

This cohort’s success is a testament to the entrepreneurial spirit and dedication of CorpsAfrica alumni, and we are excited to continue supporting their journeys as they embark on the next phase of their entrepreneurial endeavors.

Stay tuned for more updates on the progress and impact of these inspiring ventures, and be on the lookout for information about the next cohort of the Alumni Entrepreneurship Incubator.
