Aissatou Dieng is from Senegal, precisely from the Kaolack region, the department of Nioro, and the commune of Wack Ngouna. She specializes in Spatial Planning and Local Development. Aïssatou obtained her professional degree in Territorial Governance and Local Development at the Institute of Territorial Governance (IGT) of the Cheikh Anta Diop University of Dakar (UCAD). During her training, she followed immersion courses for analysis, diagnosis, and territorial planning in the area of Diokoul Mbelbouck, a commune located in the Kaffrine region. Passionate about local development, she continued on this path by working with the municipality of Keur Moussa on a land restructuring and regularization project, where she worked as a municipal land management technician. In line with her commitments, Aïssatou joined the Department of Living Environment, Housing, and Hygiene as a maintenance officer. This experience allowed her to learn a lot from different communities, which motivated her to take up volunteering to gain more knowledge and skills while sharing what she has learned. CorpsAfrica offered her this opportunity. Becoming a Volunteer at CorpsAfrica is perfectly in line with achieving her professional and personal goals. For Aïssatou, her major priority is the development of communities, at the local, national, and international levels. After serving 10 months as a Volunteer in Senegal, Aissatou joined CorpsAfrica/Ghana as an Exchange Volunteer, guided by the spirit of Pan-Africanism. This commitment beyond the borders of his native country is deeply rooted in the belief that Africa’s development.
