Abdi Ahmed brings over 17 years of experience in international development, organizational management, and leadership, having led impactful programs for organizations such as Peace Corps Ethiopia, Counterpart International, Menschen für Menschen, and the government sector. He has held progressively advanced roles throughout his career. For the past 12+ years, Abdi served as a Programming and Training Specialist for Peace Corps Ethiopia. Abdi served as a Volunteer Liaison & Communications Officer with CorpsAfrica/Ethiopia before his current position.
As the Deputy Country Director for CorpsAfrica/Ethiopia, Abdi provides strategic leadership and oversees the organization’s programmatic and operational activities. His expertise is crucial in advancing CorpsAfrica’s mission, which aims to empower and train African youth to collaborate with rural communities to alleviate poverty, enhance livelihoods, build resilience, strengthen partnerships, and foster a pan-African network focused on volunteerism, entrepreneurship, and community-led development.
