Sharon Jelagat is a project manager by practice, a mediator by profession, and a development enthusiast. She hails from Uasin Gishu county, mid-west of Kenya’s Rift Valley. She has worked with different communities for over 5 years in different capacities, mostly as a volunteer. She derives great joy in serving humanity and believes volunteering is one course of living a thousand ways. In her years of experience, she has served as a Program Manager implementing programs on child protection, and as a youth champion advocating for sexual reproductive health rights and women’s empowerment on financial matters in the slum areas. She aspires for a future where volunteerism is not looked at with a side-eye but rather fully owned and appreciated for it is through volunteering that we mold the future we will all be proud of. Sharon holds a Bachelor’s degree in Disaster Management and Humanitarian Assistance with a major in Conflict Resolution and Humanitarian Assistance. She is serving as an Exchange Volunteer in Rwanda.
