Gloria Jerotich Kelego has a background in Environmental Science. She worked with the county government of Nakuru, and the Ministry of Environment, Water, Energy, and Natural Resources where she gained skills and knowledge in Natural Resource Management, Environment Impact Assessment (EIA), Solid Waste Management, Environmental Planning and Management, pollution control on air, noise and excessive vibration, water and land, forestry management, climate change mitigation and adaptation, environmental enforcement and compliance besides management of county parks and recreational facilities. She also worked with the National Environment Management Authority (NEMA), Baringo where she got profound knowledge and skills on Effluent Discharge Licenses, NEMA licenses, EIA and EA reports, besides auditing facilities. She also worked with Conversation of Hope in mentoring students in several schools both in Baringo and Elgeyo Marakwet County. She has been involved in various volunteering activities because it’s an opportunity to make a lasting change by giving back to the community through service and growing her capacity by enriching professional development programs and networking. She is passionate about matters of the environment and mental health besides children. She aspires to be the change she wants to see: a better society.
