Ngagne Ndong, 31, is from of Bambey in the Diourbel region. Fluent in French and English, he holds a master’s degree in Forestry and Environmental Management “Forestry and Environmental Management” from the University of Mzuzu, Malawi. His master’s thesis is entitled “Effect of Selected Silvicultural Practices on Seed Germination and Growth of Baobab Seedlings of Ten Subpopulations from Malawi”. An article from his dissertation is titled “Evaluation of Different Fertilizer Application Levels on Early Growth of Baobab Seedling in Malawi” has been accepted by “The Open Journal of Forestry OJF” for a publication scientist in the field of research. Ngagne began his graduate studies at Cheikh Anta Diop University in Dakar where he obtained his degree in Biology, Chemistry, and Geosciences (BCGS) and Master’s in Botany, Biodiversity and Conservation of Natural resources.
After returning home in January 2022, Cheikh Anta Diop University accepted him for a doctorate in knowledge and conservation of natural resources. Four months later, Ngagne joined the organization APAF (Association pours le Promotion de la Forestry et de l`agroforesterie) as a community field manager for the experimentation of agroforestry systems. He held this position until September 2022 when he decided to join the Corps Africa organization for a volunteer mission for one year. Today, as a CorpsAfrica/Senegal Volunteer, Ngagne aims to serve Senegal through community development. Assigned to the Tambacounda region in the department of Goudiry in a village named Gourel Baidy, Ngagne has been working with this community since October 2022 and has carried out several activities and training with the local population for community development. This experience with Corps Africa allowed him to learn a lot from the community and also to contribute to community development. With Corps Africa, Ngagne has developed new skills including design-thinking, writing, and project management but also collaboration with partners.
