Joshua Kwawuvi is a Physician Assistant and a Public Health worker by profession. Before his CorpsAfrica service, he worked with diverse groups of people by providing them with equitable healthcare. Most of these groups were the vulnerable and underserved in communities such as Agbogbloshie, Kade, and Sakumono villages in the capital, Accra. This whipped his interest to pursue a Master of Public Health at Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA) to gain the necessary knowledge and skills in delivering population-based healthcare interventions and programs rather than an individual-patient approach. He gained an understanding of providing holistic interventions to communities, especially amid numerous global health challenges. Currently volunteering at Peki Tsibu in the Volta Region, he sees himself growing both personally and professionally working with the locals across diverse fields whilst getting to understand them more. Joshua believes this will go a long way in shaping him into the leader he envisions as he seeks to bridge the health disparity among vulnerable and underserved communities, especially across Africa.
