Papa Sanou Faye is from the Fatick region, more precisely in the village of Kalom, Commune of Ngayokhème, Arrondissement of Niakhar. He is a specialist in Local Development Engineering and Geographic Information Systems at the Gaston Berger University of Saint-Louis 2016. He previously studied English and holds a Bachelor’s degree. He also passed a certificate in project design and monitoring & evaluation in Economics and Management of the Environment and Natural Resources in Environmental Law and Protection with the Institute of La Francophonie for Sustainable Development. His professional career has been much more oriented towards community development, particularly with the Regional Directorate of Community Development. He worked with more than 30 groups of women and young people in support of local economic development (fight against poverty and protection of vulnerable groups) with the establishment of 30 income-generating micro-projects in various sectors with the support of PIDES / PADESS. Pape Sanou is also co-founder of an association in 2017 called “Nguelmaak Né Kalom,” which is active in economic, social, and environmental development in his native village. He initiated with his peers reforestation activities in the village, sports (football tournaments), and school support (donations of school supplies). Today, as a Volunteer with CorpsAfrica/Senegal, he sets himself the objective to serve his host community and have a lasting and positive impact on their experience through the enhancement of their socioeconomic potential and their participation.
