Didier Rungano was born and raised in the Rubavu district, in the western province of Rwanda. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Geography, Urban and Regional Planning from the University of Rwanda/ College of Science and Technology. He is Certified in Essential Workflows, WebGIS, and ArcGIS App for field data collection from Esri Rwanda in 2020 and, he holds a certificate in Geospatial Technology in Land Productivity Monitoring covering the following Modules: Introduction to land productivity concepts and Methodology, Estimation of soil productivity, Overview of GIS, and QGIS, Data preparation and analysis, and Introduction to land productivity prototype model by GMES and Africa and Regional Centre for Mapping Resources for Development (RCMRD) based in Kenya. Didier also received a Certificate of Going Places with Spatial Analysis in ArcGIS Pro from the Esri MOOC Program; holds a Certificate of Spatial Data Science in the New Frontier in Analysis in ArcGIS Pro from the Esri MOOC Program, and also holds a Certificate of Cartography in ArcGIS Pro. During his studies, Didier held the leadership position as the President of the Geography Student Association of Rwanda (GEOSAR) for two years. He was a member of Rwanda Youth Environmental Actors (RYAs), an association that aimed to raise awareness of environmental protection through local community mobilization. Before joining CorpsAfrica/Rwanda, Didier was a Representative of professional internees in the Center of Geographical Information System and Remote Sensing (CGIS) at the University of Rwanda as a GIS supporter. He participated in the University of Rwanda, Grid Innovation and Incubation Hub, with the project of Agriculture Productivities Monitoring in Eleven fertile districts of Rwanda. His ambition is to plan for sustainable development and plan for poor people, as a community activist. “So Let all of us feed the people while promoting well-being in the world”
