Gedeon Nsigaye was born and raised in the Southern province of Rwanda. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Science with Honors in Rural Development from the University of Rwanda, in the College of Agriculture, Animal Science and Veterinary Medicine (class of 2021). During his academic period, Gideon was the president of the Religious Association where he contributed to the development of students by mobilizing them to have a holy soul in a healthy body through salvation, love, and work. He did his academic internship in the Rural Development Inter-diocesan Service (RDIS) in Nyamagabe District. He served in the carbon credit emission reduction project by distributing stoves in the Kibirizi sector and mobilizing people to plant trees and use rural improved stoves to protect the environment. After his studies, Gedeon served as a volunteer in the Innovative Agronomist Development Organization (INADEO) where he played a role in preparing tree nurseries and in the distribution of trees to the beneficiaries of the project in Nyanza District. Gedeon worked in One Acre Fund-TUBURA as an Enumerator in the department of monitoring and evaluation. From 2011 to 2012, he served as coordinator of a children’s summit at the sector level where he worked with local leaders to mitigate issues that include malnutrition, school dropouts, and drug abuse.
