Jean Damascene Ndayisenga was born and raised in the Southern province of Rwanda. He completed a Bachelor’s degree in Horticulture from the University of Rwanda’s College of Agriculture, Animal Science, and Veterinary Medicine (Class of 2019). From May to November 2017, he volunteered as an intern at Stand Together for Change (STC.ORG) in the Muhanga district. During the internship, he learned how to prevent malnutrition for handicapped children, how to reduce poverty for their families, and how to fight against violence against handicapped children. During 2018-2019, he worked with Pride Rwanda Ltd as a Site Technician helping the farmers to maintain the production of their coffee crops. From June to August 2019, he participated in an academic internship at HoReCo, where he worked alongside farmers to grow rice at Jabana Swamp. He joined Rwanda Youth Volunteers to carry out the help to vulnerable people. His value is to help anyone who wants help. He believes that everyone is happy when they do good for someone else. But sometimes in our journey, we have been facing different challenges, and many of us immediately give up. His favorite quote is, “I never lose, I either win or learn”. So, this quote helps me to be persistent.
