Lloyd Nyirenda holds a Bachelor of Social Science Degree in Development Studies obtained from the University of Livingstonia. Prior to CorpsAfrica, Lloyd worked as a Gender Officer at M’mbelwa District Council. Among other duties, he coordinated activities for organizations under the Spotlight Initiative, a UN program aimed at eliminating violence against women and girls. He has also worked as a Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) Facilitator with Participatory Development Initiatives on a Maternal Neonatal Health Project in Machinga District. He also has experience as an Assistant Social Welfare Officer for Nkhatabay District Council and Data Entry Clerk for World Vision. During his college years, Lloyd volunteered for Warm Heart, a University of Livingstonia-based organization which promotes the lives of marginalized school children. He believes that rural communities have the power to uplift themselves from poverty and come up with lasting solutions to the different challenges they face.
