Adorah Gertrude Maere, a youth activist and gender advocate, is a highly motivated young female who believes youths are at the epicentre of global health. Adorah has recently graduated from Domasi College of Education, with a Bachelor of Education in English and Linguistics and African Languages. She is a Youth Champion for Healthy Policy Plus, Leader for Feminists in Campus (Zomba chapter), Project Facilitator and Mentor for Likhubula Youth Organisation (LIYO), Centre for Education Promotion and Advancement of the Rights of Adolescent Mothers (CEPARAM), Mawa ndi Anthu and Zomba Centre for Creative Arts (ZOCCA). Adorah is also a Trainer for gender and sexual reproductive health rights (SRHR) under Art and Global Health Centre Africa (ARTGLO). Adorah is very passionate about addressing gender inequalities, youth participation and SRHR. Through her community work with ArtGlo, Pepeta and other organisations, Adorah managed to take a leading role in uplifting the voice of women and pushing for youth participation in areas that affect them. Adorah is working towards creating a strong and meaningful voice for young people and women in Malawi’s communities. Adorah believes that the opportunity to serve with CorpsAfrica will help her engage with rural communities, and share knowledge and skills on sustainable development.
