Chisomo Kambandanga is a Social Philosophy and Human Resources Management graduate from the University of Malawi, Chancellor College. He excels in mobilizing community members to improve their livelihoods through self-help development projects. He joined community service as a Community Engagement Coordinator with CHANCO Project Rejuvenation in 2013. Chisomo also worked with CRECCOM as a Theatre for Development Troupe Member (TFD) and Research Assistant. He also enjoyed voluntary work at Rainbow Children Development Center and Center for Free Market Enterprise (CFME) as an Administrative Assistant and Data Clerk respectively. From September 2018 to June 2021, he worked as a Project Officer (Social Welfare Officer) in the Ministry of Gender, Community Development, and Social Welfare in Salima District under the Government Internship Program. During that time, he managed the Social Cash Transfer Program which gives cash to ultra-poor people in communities to help them graduate from poverty through the Malawi Growth and Development Strategy (MGDS). In addition, Chisomo was a Field Officer for Care Malawi managing Tidzidalire Project where he trained social cash transfer beneficiaries with different business skills. He is also a Co-Founder of COMFOTS and the Pamudzi Pathu Initiative, which focuses on local organizations that aim to foster community socio-economic independence. Chisomo feels honored to contribute his knowledge and skills in transforming communities through CorpsAfrica and he believes that through this experience he will advance his career in community development.
