Ms. Selamawit Tekalign Mamo is a Partnerships Officer at World Food Programme’s (WFP) Regional Bureau for Eastern Africa, based in Nairobi, where she oversees WFP’s engagement with international financial institutions in the region. Most recently, she worked at the Office of the Chairman and CEO of OCP Group, a global leader in the phosphate and fertilizer industry, where her role primarily focused on actively promoting the Group’s efforts around ensuring food security in sub-Saharan Africa and identifying strategic partnership opportunities with a host of public, private sector and external entities for the Group’s commitment to boosting sustainable agricultural production in the region. Prior to that, starting out as an African Union Young Professional, she worked for the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) in various capacities around advocating for youth engagement in decision-making processes, resource mobilization and communication. Selamawit holds a M.S. degree in Globalization and Development from the University of London School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), a B.S. degree in Political Science and International Relations from Black Hills State University and an Executive Diploma from HEC Paris in Sustainable Leadership in Africa.
