As I embarked on my journey as a Volunteer with CorpsAfrica, I knew I was stepping into an adventure that would shape not only the lives of those I serve but also my own. My experience as a socio-criminologist, coupled with a strong background in child protection and family support, had prepared me for the challenges and opportunities awaiting me in a rural village in Al Haouz, Morocco.
A Warm Welcome in Al Haouz
Arriving in this small community nestled in the mountains, I was met with warmth and curiosity. Every smile, greeting, and shared meal helped me connect with the people I had come to serve. From the children who eagerly joined my educational sessions to the women who inspired me with their resilience, the village soon felt like home.
Empowering through Education One of my proudest accomplishments has been organizing literacy classes for women and support classes for children and young girls. Every day, I worked to create a space where they could learn and grow, focusing on Arabic, math, French, and English. Witnessing the confidence these sessions brought to young girls and women has been deeply fulfilling.
Overcoming Challenges with Determination
Challenges have been part of this journey. Whether it was finding a suitable location for classes or navigating logistical obstacles, I learned to adapt and rely on the strength of the community and my determination. These experiences reminded me that small victories often pave the way for lasting change.
Moments of Connection and Growth
Some of my favorite moments came during spontaneous conversations with villagers or while leading creative activities for children. Playing games, singing songs, and fostering joy have been a beautiful way to bridge cultural gaps and build trust. Each moment reaffirmed my belief in the power of human connection.

This journey with CorpsAfrica has deepened my commitment to community development and sustainable change. It has shown me the strength that lies within grassroots efforts and the profound impact of empowering individuals to realize their potential. As I reflect on this chapter, I feel immense gratitude for the opportunity to serve and learn
alongside the people of this village. This experience has not only enriched my professional path but has also transformed me on a personal level.
