Fatma Athman is an active human being in support of community development and youth advancement. She graduated with a degree in Community Resource Management and has been working with communities for more than five years intending to improve the quality of lives of the people and availability of services to them. Fatma focuses on young people and reproductive health and rights, acknowledging the efforts that the youth have to make to obtain credible and helpful information and services. Fatma also holds a certificate in Counselling Psychology from the Kenya Association of Professional Counsellors driven by her passion for mental health. In the year 2022, Fatma successfully reintroduced a Youth-Friendly Centre in Matsangoni that supports young people with valuable services and direction applying the Intersectional Community Scorecard as an accountability mechanism. Through this, the concerns of the community were met. Fatma is also a researcher who is always on the lookout for effective methods to enhance the well-being of communities as well as the efficiency of services being offered. Her hobbies include hiking and swimming, which she practices in her spare time because they are connected to nature and help her to be physically active. As a scholar and an activist who serves to change the world for the better, she is a subject of considerable importance in her specialization.
