Ama Nyarko is committed to utilizing her skills in clinical psychology and community outreach to foster positive change in the areas of mental health, gender equality, and social justice. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Ghana and is currently pursuing her master’s in clinical psychology. Her research focuses on women in STEM and maternal mental health. As a SISTARS scholar and WAGMC fellow, Ama has a strong passion for community service. She was a Psych Corps Ghana volunteer in 2019, supporting mental health initiatives in rural communities in Ghana’s Ashanti Region. She joined CorpsAfrica because she believes in its mission to implement impactful, low-cost projects in rural areas. She views her volunteering journey as an avenue to discover new talents, explore multiple career paths, and contribute to national development. In her free time, Ama enjoys reading the autobiographies of notable individuals. She finds beauty and inspiration in these personal stories, which deepen her understanding and appreciation of their legacies.
